The Flensburg District Court will open insolvency proceedings concerning Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft mbH (FSG) on August 1st, the company said in an update.
To remind, the German cash strapped shipbuilder filed for the opening of insolvency proceedings at the local court in Flensburg in April.

Asian waters accounted for a third of large vessels lost at sea globally last year, even as large shipping losses are at a record low having fallen by over 20 per cent year-on-year, according to specialty insurer Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE’s (AGCS) Safety & Shipping Review 2020.

Norway’s ship recycling firm Green Yard has taken over compatriot Kleven Verft, which filed for bankruptcy early this month after losing a loan deal.

Wärtsilä has received an order for multiple solutions for Green Jade, the first floating heavy-lift offshore wind installation vessel to be built in Taiwan.
The vessel, owned by CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering (CDWE), will be equipped with four of Wärtsilä’s 46DF and two 20DF dual-fuel engines, as well as its Transverse and Steerable Thrusters, DP3 solution, navigation system, and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems for emissions abatement.

Thailand-listed dry cargo ship owner Precious Shipping has reached a settlement with Chinese Jiangsu Guoxin Corporation, formerly known as shipbuilder Sainty Marine Corporation, in relation to the shipbuilding contracts for eleven 64,000 dwt bulkers.

South Korean shipbuilder Dae Sun Shipbuilding & Engineering has secured an order for two gearless 1,000 TEU feeder containerships from Namsung Shipping.
The two newbuildings, estimated to be worth $36 million, are scheduled for delivery at the end of 2021 and early 2022, data from Clarksons Platou Shipbroking shows.
The order is being reported a month after Namsung took delivery of two similar ships from the yard, namely MV Star Explorer and MV Star Frontier.... [Read More]

German shipping major Hapag-Lloyd has confirmed coronavirus cases on two more containerships.
“(D)uring normal operations of our Philadelphia Express and St. Louis Express, … one member of each vessel’s crew tested positive for COVID-19,” Hapag-Lloyd informed.
