PORT ISABEL, Texas — The Coast Guard lifted the safety zone and approved a vessel transit plan Thursday, that allowed the damaged barge to move to a facility on the Brownsville Ship Channel to offload the diesel the barge was carrying. ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — The Coast Guard medevaced a woman Thursday from flooded Kinston to Greenville for medical treatment. Air Station Elizabeth City watchstanders received a request at approximately 10:30 a.m. to medevac an unconscious woman from Southwood Elementary in Kinston after a power outage impacted local hospitals. PORT ISABEL, Texas — Response workers were able to recover more than 2,000 gallons of diesel through the night and into Thursday morning in the Port Isabel Channel, after a barge allided with a dock Tuesday. Tuesday at 11:24 p.m., watchstanders at Sector Corpus Christi received a report that the a barge in tow of the towing vessel, Capt. Jim Green, allided with a dock at the Subsea 7 facility in the channel, which caused the release of approximately 5,000 gallons of the low sulfur diesel fuel one of the barges was carrying.... LOS ANGELES — The Coast Guard ended the search for three missing boaters Wednesday, after they were located safely aboard their vessel near Albert’s Anchorage in Santa Cruz Island. The Blacktip crew located the boaters all in good health around 5:30 a.m. The boaters reported to have had a miscommunication regarding their return date, and were not planning on coming back into port until Thursday....
