NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard rescued three men and two dogs from a sinking vessel near Dauphin Island, Alabama, Wednesday.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a report at 10:18 a.m. of a vessel that was taking on water near Dauphin Island.
The Coast Guard launched a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium from Coast Guard Station Dauphin Island, an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans, and a MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Aviation Training Center Mobile.
The response boat arrived on scene at approximately 10:30 a.m. and recovered three men and two dogs from the water and transported them back to Station Dauphin Island.
The men were reported to be in stable condition.
